The National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS) and the Gulf of Mexico Coastal Ocean Observing System Regional Association (GCOOS-RA) are pleased to announce a funding opportunity for projects assessing the socioeconomic impacts of the 2017-2018 Florida Red Tide and to improve assessments of future blooms.

A required Letter of Intent (LOI) should be sent to info@gcoos.org and must be received by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, on Aug. 15, 2019. Proposals will not be accepted if an LOI was not submitted by the due date and time.

Full applications must be sent to info@gcoos.org and received by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Sept. 13, 2019. Electronic submissions received after the deadline will not be considered. Paper submissions will not be accepted.

Investigators are advised to submit full applications well in advance of the deadline as a precaution against unanticipated delays.

GCOOS anticipates funding one to two projects at approximately $100,000 to $140,000 per year, for a maximum duration of two years. GCOOS may consider a single, holistic proposal of up to $250,000 per year; please note that potential PIs must receive approval from GCOOS prior to submission.
